The StumpTown Comics Arts Awards is now accepting entries for its 2017 edition which would be presented during the Clay City Publishers Conference in September.
Authors, creators, and publishers who are interested in submitting their work published between June 2016 and June 2017 should make sure their entries comprise of a hard copy containing the title for consideration, along with the approved entry form which is in the link below:
Please include one form with each work submitted.
This year’s awards fall under the following categories:
- Best Writer
- Best Artist
- Best Letterer
- Best Cartoonist
- Best Publication Design
- Best Colorist
- Best New Comic
- Best Small Press
- Best Webcomic
- Best Anthology
- Reader’s Choice
Also, the StumpTown Comics Fest is happy to introduce a new award category coming on board for 2017, Best Publication for Young Readers.
All works published after June 2016 and before June 30, 2017, will be accepted. Online comics (meaning comics published for mobile reading devicesor for download online) are also eligible for any category by following the instructions on the submission form. Those submitting their Digital comics and Webcomicwork do not need to provide printed copies. Submitting more than five separate works for each category will not be accepted; however,submissions will be accepted in any number of categories.

Following the same process taken last year, a panel of selected industry experts will carefully go through all submitted entries and select the most outstanding works. The panel will release a final poll in August, to be accessible online for all professionals, comic enthusiasts, readers and fans of comic arts to vote for their favorite entry.
The winners of each category will be determined by the total number of votes gotten, which would be The votes will determine the final winners of each category, which will be tabulated and awarded at the Awards Ceremony to be held during Clay City Comic Con’s kick-off party, on September 1, 2017 at the Portland Comics From Around The World.
